KFAN and KTLK will continue to be the Twin Cities’ home for the Minnesota Vikings. The iHeartMedia stations have announced a five year extension to their deal with the team to broadcast all preseason, regular season, and postseason Vikings games. Next season will make the 20th year that KFAN has served as the flagship station for the Vikings Radio Network.
In addition to games, iHeartMedia stations will also continue co-producing content with the team. The six-station cluster will also have promotional access to the team and will build events and promotions for both on air and online platforms.
“My thanks to the Wilf family and all the great people we work with at the Minnesota Vikings,” iHeartMedia Market President Jeff Tyler said in a press release. “They are at the top level of sports franchises and our entire team at iHeartMedia Minneapolis is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our partnership for another five years. Both organizations are dedicated to innovation and excellence which makes this partnership so unique and valuable.”
To celebrate the new deal, iHeartMedia stations in the Twin Cities are giving away tickets to watch the Vikings in person. Right now, the station websites are running a contest to giveaway tickets to every Packers’ visit to Minneapolis for the next five seasons.
