Andrew Marchand of The New York Post reports that Dan Patrick met with ESPN executives multiple times, but nothing concrete came from those meetings.
Rumors were swirling that ESPN was interested in bringing The Dan Patrick Show back to ESPN Radio in 2020 when Stephen A. Smith ended his daily show. Patrick and the Danettes have opted to stick with DirecTV and Bleacher Report and ESPN Radio will fill Smith’s former 1-3 pm slot with First Take Your Take with Jason Fitz.

Just because a radio deal did not materialize doesn’t mean the meetings were a waste of either side’s time. Both Front Office Sports and Marchand have speculated that Patrick could return to ESPN for the right TV project at some point in the future.
