More than three months after Cris Carter departed First Things First, FS1 is close to finding his replacement.
According to Bobby Burack of The Big Lead, former ESPN executive Kevin Wildes has been tabbed as a full-time addition to the show, joining Nick Wright, Jenna Wolfe and possibly a fourth personality. Since Carter’s departure last November, First Things First has used a variety of fill-in hosts on the show including Antoine Walker and Chris Canty.
Both could potentially be used as the fourth host that might be added to the show, which Burack noted is likely to be a former athlete. Bart Scott was also used as a fill-in, but after signing a contract with ESPN that sees him appear on Get Up, he would no longer be a candidate. Burack named former NFL linebacker and current ESPN analyst Emmanuel Acho as a possibility to be the fourth host on First Things First.
Wildes joins FOX Sports after recent stops at Relevant Sports Group and ABC. Wildes was previously with ESPN for a decade as their senior coordinating producer, working on shows such as NBA Countdown, The Jump and Kobe Bryant’s Detail on ESPN+.
Nick Wright and Cris Carter partnered for First Things First on FS1 in 2016, with Jenna Wolfe being added the following year.
