Jim Rome is relaunching his World Tour and the first stop is Buffalo, NY. The iconic CBS Sports Radio host will perform live at Shea’s Performing Arts Center Saturday, Apr. 11.
It’s not the first time Rome has been on tour giving listeners a first-hand look at “The Jungle,” it’s also not the first time the tour went to Buffalo. So far the only currently announced stop for the event is Buffalo, but past tours have included cities that are Rome affiliates such as Sacramento, Houston, Detroit, Denver, Cleveland and many more.
Rome was previously heard daily on WGR 550 until the station went all local for their weekday lineup in 2016. Entercom’s ESPN 1520 in Buffalo is still listed as a Rome affiliate, making him the only non-ESPN show on the station.
The Los Angeles native began his radio career in the 1980’s while attending the University of California, Santa Barbara, for Communications. In 1996, The Jim Rome Show became nationally syndicated and is currently one of the most important pieces of the CBS Sports brand. Rome’s radio show is heard on more than 200 affiliates around the country, in addition to being simulcast on television via CBS Sports Network.
The live show has drawn as many as 10,000 fans in the past. April’s show in Buffalo will be Rome’s first tour stop since 2004. Interacting with the crowd while offering sports related guests and activities, the tour is a good way for listeners to celebrate the iconic sports personality who earned a trip to the Radio Hall of Fame last November.
