Tra Thomas Out at 97.5 The Fanatic

Less than a week after Beasley Media announced salary reductions for their employees, 97.5 The Fanatic host Tra Thomas has been released by the company due to cutbacks made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thomas joined The Fanatic in Aug. 2018 as a regular contributor, making weekly appearances on their midday show and hosting 97.5’s Eagles pregame show. Later that year, Thomas moved to mornings as a full-time host after the station shuffled their weekday lineup. Thomas joined Marc Farzetta, Bob Cooney, Jamie Lynch and Sam Wilson for the show every weekday from 6 – 10am.

For a decade, Thomas played on the Eagles offensive line from 1998-2008, later spending two seasons as an assistant coach under Andy Reid.  Prior to joining The Fanatic, Thomas also worked on-air at Philadelphia’s SportsRadio 94WIP.

Beasley is among a growing list of media companies making personnel changes to combat lost income during the current global pandemic. Sports Illustrated, DAZN, iHeartMedia, SB Nation and Entercom are all among those that have made budget cuts.
