Sports radio ratings dipped a bit in the Bay Area during the last book, which might not be too much of a surprise considering the success of the 49ers in the fall, followed by the Warriors tailspin in the winter. According to Nielsen Audio data, KNBR 104.5/680 finished ahead of 95.7 The Game, but both stations saw declines from the fall quarter.
In weekday prime (M-F 6a – 7p), KNBR finished fifth with a 5.0 share in the targeted demo of men 25-54, while The Game ranked seventh with a 4.3. Ratings are reported with the stream included for both stations. For the full week, (M-SU 6a – Midnight) KNBR again finished fifth with a 4.7 and The Game slotted tenth with a 3.6.
KNBR’s morning show Murph & Mac finished fifth, earning a 5.0 share, down from their 5.8 during the fall book. The Game’s morning show Joe, Lo & Dibs finished a full point behind KNBR with a 4.0.
A tight race in middays led to a fifth-place tie for KNBR and The Game during the 10a – 2p timeslot, both garnering a 4.5 share. For KNBR, Greg Papa and John Lund were down more than a point from the fall book, while The Game’s Bonta, Steiny & Guru was the only Bay Area weekday sports radio show to improve their ratings during the winter quarter.
In afternoon drive, Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks had a strong second-place performance with a 5.6 share, while The Game’s Damon, Ratto & Kolsky finished a point behind with a 4.6.
