It’s going to be a very slow process as major sports leagues attempt to figure out how to come back. The same is true for sports shows that have been operating remotely since the COVID-19 pandemic developed.
Wednesday offered some good news for FOX Sports, as The Herd’s Colin Cowherd and Joy Taylor were able to return to FS1 studios in Los Angeles for the first time in two months.
“Over the past few months, our FS1 studio production teams have been working tirelessly to deliver uninterrupted, top-notch daily programming to our viewers while at all times maintaining the safety, health, and well-being of our talent, employees and production staff,” FS1 spokesman Andrew Fegyveresi said, according to Front Office Sports.
Those efforts didn’t go unnoticed as Cowherd and Taylor returned to the studio. Long before the pandemic, Cowherd and his co-host would sit at an unusual distance apart. But now it’s a setup that will likely be followed by other multi-host shows that look to move out of their homes and back into studios.
“I feel safer here than I do in my own home,” Cowherd said regarding the precautions taken by FS1. “I honestly feel lighter today, I feel like we’ve made progress.” Cowherd noted social distancing rules remain in effect, everything is sanitized, and everyone has masks.
“Even our muffins delivered for breakfast are social distancing, our muffins are six feet apart!” said Cowherd, who has previously noted a greasy muffin is his cheat day meal of choice.
