ESPN isn’t done milking Michael Jordan’s career with the Chicago Bulls for content. The network announced on Monday that later this week it would present Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, Jordan’s last in a Chicago uniform, in a whole new way. The network is calling the presentation Game 6: The Movie.
Fans will enjoy what ESPN is calling “an unprecedented cinematic production” of the game. It will feature the original NBC Sports call along with some never-before-seen footage captured by the five cameras NBA Entertainment used to document the action.
“The film footage paired with the original telecast commentary creates a unique multi-media experience the likes of which have never been seen before,” producer of Game 6: The Movie, Gregg Winik said in a press release. “Now that the world intimately knows The Last Dance cast of characters, Game 6: The Movie is the perfect epilogue.”
It won’t be the only epilogue to The Last Dance that ESPN has in the works. First Take host Stephen A. Smith will host an after-show for ABC on Tuesday at 8 pm to recap the docu-series.
Game 6: The Movie airs Wednesday night at 9 pm on ESPN.
