ESPN has gone all in on soccer. With Major League Soccer staging its MLS is Back Tournament on Walt Disney World property, it makes sense that the Disney-owned network would carry a bulk of the games.
With Major League Baseball set to start its new season later this week, ESPN is going to put as bright of a spotlight on soccer as it can right now.
The network has just committed to airing even more of the MLS is Back Tournament. On Monday and Tuesday of this week, ESPN has added a total of three games to its broadcast schedule. They include Philadelphia Union vs. Orlando City on Monday night and a doubleheader for Tuesday that starts with Atlanta United vs. Columbus Crew. That game will be followed by Montreal Impact vs. DC United.
The MLS is Back Tournament is winding down group play. Saturday begins the knockout rounds with the 24 team field being narrowed to 16 for a single elimination tournament.
