Someone at the NBA offices in New York were clearly paying attention to Major League Baseball over the weekend. NBA TV announced on Tuesday that it would begin carrying inter-squad scrimmages ahead of the season’s resumption inside the Walt Disney World bubble next week.
A sports-starved American public have been more than happy to watch baseball that doesn’t count. NBA TV is banking on the same being true for basketball. Beginning on Wednesday, the network will televise 16 scrimmages through next Tuesday.
The scrimmage schedule begins with a doubleheader on Wednesday, July 23. The Orlando Magic face the LA Clippers at 3 p.m. Eastern, followed by the New Orleans Pelicans vs. Brooklyn Nets.
NBA TV will begin its coverage of seeding games on Friday, July 31.
