Major League Baseball and it’s Players Association reached an agreement to expand the 2020 playoffs. Rather than the usual ten teams, this postseason will include sixteen teams. That means more playoff series, which means more television inventory.
Hours after it became clear that there would be extra playoff games, we found out where we could watch them. Seven of the eight first round series will air on ESPN. The other series will likely go to Turner.
ESPN’s increased playoff inventory is the only change announced so far. The American League playoffs, beginning with the Division Series, are set to air on the Turner Networks. The National League playoffs and the World Series are set to air on FOX.
