Major changes are in store for Columbus, Ohio’s 97.1 The Fan, as the station gets set to introduce a reshuffled lineup beginning Monday, Aug. 17.
With ESPN Radio replacing Golic and Wingo for their new trio of Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams and Zubin Mehenti, The Fan is using the change as an opportunity to go local in morning drive. Moving to the 6 – 9am window will be Bobby Carpenter, Brandon Beam and Anthony Schlegel. For the last six years, Beam worked alongside Tim Hall, most recently co-hosting The Buckeye Show weeknights from 6 – 8pm.
The new morning drive opportunity for Carpenter means the former Buckeye and NFL linebacker is departing his early afternoon show alongside Anthony Rothman. Stepping in for him on the noon – 3pm show will be Carpenter & Rothman producer Matt Hayes.
The Fan has produced strong ratings in recent books, but the new schedule creates a deeper local presence with their new 6 – 9am show and brings diversity to their lineup with Hayes getting a full-time on-air spot.
