After BSM first reported the news earlier this week, Pat McAfee officially announced his departure from Westwood One and CBS Sports Radio, effective following his show Friday Aug. 26.
For his next stop, The Pat McAfee Show will be heard weekdays on SiriusXM from noon – 3pm beginning Sept. 8. During the announcement, McAfee said the deal has been agreed to, but not yet signed. Also not yet finalized is which channel will carry the show, but expect that announcement soon considering his SiriusXM launch date of Sept. 8 is less than two weeks away.
When CBS Sports Radio informed their affiliates of McAfee’s departure, the network said a familiar voice would be his replacement. That voice was announced Wednesday, with Entercom stating Bill Reiter has returned to CBS Sports Radio to fill the weekday 10am – noon ET void.
Reiter joined CBS Sports in 2016 after six years with FOX Sports, but last December he left his weeknight 6 – 10pm radio show. One month earlier, Reiter announced he signed a multiyear extension with CBS Sports and CBS Sports HQ to lead their NBA coverage. Returning to radio with a 10am – noon show is likely more conducive to continuing his basketball coverage than the 6 – 10pm timeslot which is prime time for NBA games.
“Reiter Than You is back and we couldn’t be happier,” said Entercom’s Sports Format Captain Mark Chernoff. “Bill’s insights, opinions and observations are emblematic of the premier content that CBS Sports Radio offers loyal sports fans.”
Reiter will begin his new 10am – noon show on Monday Aug. 31.

I could not be more stoked to have Bill Reiter back on the airwaves. I’ve listened to CBS Sports Radio since its inception and Bill’s show almost immediately jumped to the top of my list. He is fair, great to listen to, and steadfast in his willingness to have his opinion but fairly and unavoidably willing to have difficult conversations outside of sport when necessary. He was greatly missed by me when he left the air earlier this year.
Pat McAfee’s show was also pretty good, but I personally am thrilled to hear Bill on a daily basis again.
Great job and thank you.
