According to Inside Radio, Jim Meyer will step down as CEO of SiriusXM at the end of the year. Jennifer Witz is set to take his place. She currently serves as the platform’s President of Sales, Marketing and Operations.
“It has been a privilege to lead SiriusXM, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together over the last eight years,” Meyer said in a press release. “This company has never been in a better position. My decision to retire has long been in the works, and now is the right time to begin this transition.”
Witz has been at SiriusXM for the last 18 years. Over the final quarter of 2020, she will work closely with Meyer to ensure a smooth transition at the top of the company.
“SiriusXM has tremendous opportunities ahead,” she said in a press release. “We are rolling out new programming, introducing new technology and expanding our OEM relationships, while pursuing new avenues of growth at Pandora and strengthening our position in the podcasting space.”
Meyer will still be involved with the company after his retirement. He will retain a seat on its board of directors and serve as Vice Chairman.
