ESPN 97.5 Hosts Get Into Profanity-Laced Fight On Air

ESPN 97.5’s Late Hits with Patrick Creighton and Jayson Braddock touts itself as a “no-holds-barred style of sports talk” and Monday night, the show lived up to its description.

Their shouting match was attention-grabbing and didn’t seem like a bit, but it also might not be a segment either host will look back on and be proud of.

After the Houston Rockets again fell short of their season expectations, everything seems to be on the table for the franchise, maybe even a trade of superstar James Harden. But it was the prospect of dealing Harden that caused ESPN 97.5’s Braddock and Creighton to shift from a sports debate into a profanity-laced argument.

In a clip that was cut and shared on Twitter by Funhouse, Creighton accused Braddock of checking out from the segment, while Braddock repeatedly told his co-host to “shut up crying,” calling him a bitch multiple times before walking out. The bickering spilled into the break as vulgarities worsened on the live stream before audio was cut.

The fight came in the first segment of the show’s second and final hour. Flying solo the rest of the way, Creighton noted the hosts would likely talk through the issue at some point in the ensuing 24 hours after letting cooler heads prevail.

Creighton also reminded listeners of an on-air fight he once had with Houston-area radio host Mike Meltser which involved flipping tables. Similarly, this isn’t Braddock’s first radio quarrel with a colleague. In 2018, Braddock was placed on “assignment” after he criticized Josh Innes for his Radio Row antics while both hosts filled opposite drive time slots for their former employer SportsTalk 790 KBME.

Both Creighton and Braddock were off-air Tuesday night, but unrelated to the argument. Late Hits airs from 7 – 9pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week. Soccer Matters with Glenn Davis fills the same hours every Tuesday.
