President Trump’s $70,000 tax deduction for haircuts and styling caused a lot of people to check in with their accountant. But for Jalen Rose, POTUS’s hair reminded him to remind you to vote.
Rose is known for always showing up on ESPN with a sharp shape up and hairline, likely spending a lot of money annually on the look. And then there’s President Trump, $70,000 for a hairstylist, and depending on your political allegiance, you might view him as either having the gall or savvy to write it off.
Personally, I’ve been disappointed in my last two haircuts, but the idea of spending more than $20 for a “one on the side and a scissor up top” gives me anxiety.
Rose has become one of the most recognizable personalities on ESPN, co-hosting Jalen & Jacoby, Get Up! and NBA Coundown. The former NBA star also doesn’t hesitate to address social issues or politics, especially as the election nears. In June, Rose partnered with LeBron James and other celebrities to create the ‘More Than a Vote’ campaign, aiming to encourage Black voters to participate in elections.
