Chris Wallace: President Trump Late to Debate Site for Definitive COVID Test Results

Over the last few days, the biggest story around the United States is the positive Covid-19 test result from President Trump, along with those within his administration and inner circle.

Before testing positive, Trump partook in the first of three presidential debates with Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden. Furthermore, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, who served as moderator for the debate, said that the president arrived late in Cleveland, which meant it was too late to take a Covid-19 test and receive a result.

“[The Trump family] didn’t arrive until Tuesday afternoon. So for them to get tested, there wouldn’t have been enough time to have the test and have the debate at 9:00 that night,” Wallace said to Fox News colleague Bill Hemmer. “They didn’t show up until 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 in the afternoon. There was an honor system when it came to the people that came into the hall from the two campaigns.” With Trump not being tested despite the Cleveland Clinic stating he did, Hemmer speculates that they relied on an honor system, that ultimately failed.
