Hurricane Delta is expected to make landfall along the Louisiana and Texas Gulf Coast on Friday as a category 3 hurricane. By Saturday morning, it is expected to still be at tropical storm strength as it makes its way north towards the Memphis area.
The inclement weather has forced ESPN and a number of college football conferences to move games around to avoid heavy winds and rain.
LSU has already agreed to turn a home game into a road contest. Their game against Missouri will now move to noon and go from ESPN to the SEC Network alternate channel. The game will re-air immediately at 4 pm on the SEC Network.
That game is just the tip of the iceberg in SEC action. The 4 pm kickoff between Auburn and Arkansas moves from the SEC Network to ESPN. Alabama’s visit to Ole Miss stays on ESPN but moves back from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Weirdest of all, Florida’s noon visit to Texas A&M gets a sort of MegaCast treatment. In addition to the traditional feed on ESPN, a full broadcast from the SkyCast camera will air on ESPNU.
We will see a game in the Sun Belt Conference change dates entirely. ESPN has moved Coastal Carolina’s visit to #23 Louisiana moved from Saturday to Wednesday, October 14.
