President Trump called officials in Detroit and Philadelphia corrupt as ballots are counted in battleground states during his press conference. Michigan, which ultimately went to Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden according to AP News. However, Pennsylvania votes are still being counted.
These comments led CNN host Andreson Cooper to criticize the president, stating that he’s “like an obese turtle on his back flailing in the hot sun realizing his time is over.”
Trump made unverifiable comments about voter fraud during his press conference and how the election is being stolen from him.
“It’s sad, and it is truly pathetic,” Cooper said. “And of course it is dangerous, and of course it will go to courts, but you’ll notice the president did not have any evidence presented at all. Nothing. No real actual evidence of any kind of fraud. He talked about people putting up papers in windows. He talked about things he’d seen on the internet.”According to The Hill, the president currently holds 214 electoral votes, while his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, has 264 electoral votes. Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Arizona are still counting votes as the United States awaits whether Trump will have a second term or a new president.
