Legendary talk show host Larry King is reportedly out of the intensive care unit at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles as he continues his battle with COVID-19.
King, 87, was admitted more than a week ago after he tested positive, according to multiple news outlets. The Emmy award-winning journalist is especially vulnerable to the coronavirus given his past health issues. In 2019, he told Extra that he suffered a stroke which put him in a coma “for a couple of weeks.” King is also a diabetic with a long history of heart disease.
The Larry King Live host most recently hosted an three-times-weekly show on the online ORA TV platform. He had been hosting.
Last year, King lost two of his children within a couple of each other. His son Andy died of a heart attack; his daughter Chaia died from lung cancer.
King founded the Larry King Cardiac Foundation which helps those who need life-saving treatment but have no means to pay for it.
