Last month, conservative media outlet The Daily Wire announced that they were jumping into the entertainment industry with several projects lined up. Despite having plans for the new venture, they didn’t have a marquee actor to be the face of this project.
However, the media outlet will be partnering with Gina Carano after Disney fired the actress from her role on “The Mandalorian.” Carano’s dismissal came from her post on social media where she compared Nazi Germany to politics today, mocked face masks, and sent other posts blasted by critics.
Nonetheless, Carano is excited to join The Daily Wire’s venture into the entertainment industry.
“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out, and my prayer was answered,” Carano told Deadline.
Ben Shapiro, the website’s co-founder, also provided comments on Carano joining their budding media company. “We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left,” Shapiro told Deadline. “This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob.”
