ABC Correspondent Suspended

ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman was suspended again by the network, this time for violating the company’s COVID-19 safety rules. Gutman reportedly went to a hospital to report a story without informing the network.

The story, which was first reported Deadline said the network and Gutman declined comment.

Gutman was suspended last year after he falsely reported that all of Kobe Bryant’s children were involved in the helicopter crash that killed the NBA star and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. He wound up correcting the error and apologizing to the family via Twitter.

Gutman is ABC’s chief national correspondent and has been on the front lines of covering the COVID pandemic since it began last year.

Gutman joined ABC News in 2008, making regular appearances on World News Tonight, 20/20, Good Morning America, and Nightline.
