Boog Sciambi is the voice of the Cubs on Marquee Sports Network, but even when he is away calling national games, there will still be a recognizable voice on the network. Marquee announced today that Chris Myers, Beth Mowins, and Pat Hughes will all take turns stepping in for Sciambi throughout the season.
“We’re looking forward to our first season with ‘Boog’ on the call, and are thrilled to have Chris Myers, Pat Hughes and Beth Mowins as play-by-play broadcasters for select games,” Mike McCarthy, the network’s general manager, said in a press release. “Chris, who has been with us since the launch, was scheduled to call games with us last season, but due to our precautionary approach to the pandemic, we were unable to make that happen. Pat is a legendary voice in Chicago who we are thrilled to bring to the TV viewers, and Beth is a groundbreaking announcer known to audiences for her NFL and collegiate work on ESPN. We are confident that all three will bring a tremendous energy to the broadcast booth this season.”
Marquee will air every Cubs game that is not scheduled for national broadcast this season. The first broadcast of the year will be on March 2, when the Cubs take on the Kansas City Royals in Arizona to open the team’s Spring Training schedule. The regular season begins on April 1, with the Pittsburgh Pirates coming to Wrigleyville.
