Sid Rosenberg is adding another day to his WABC broadcasting schedule. The Red Apple Media group news talker is putting their morning host on the weekend schedule.
Rosenberg will resume his sports show on Sundays in New York from noon until 2 pm. The show had been on hiatus since many games were cancelled last year at the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic. He has done multiple one off shows in the meantime.
While the station served as the flagship station for the Jets, New Jersey Devils, and Seton Hall in the past, it currently carries no sports programming. That doesn’t give Rosenberg any pause though. He isn’t worried about competing with WFAN or ESPN New York for those two hours each week.
“There’s no one on Sundays as good as me at either station,” he told Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.
An icon in the world of New York sports radio, Rosenberg started his broadcast career in West Palm Beach before coming to New York to host The Sports Guys on WNEW. He would join Imus in the Morning a year later, sharing sports duties with Warner Wolf.
He partnered with Bernard McGuirk in 2016 on WABC. In 2018 the duo took over the morning drive slot on the station after Don Imus announced his retirement. He first started doing his Sports Sunday show for the station the same year.
Cumulus no longer owns WABC.
The station was sold to a local operator, Red Apple Media, run by John Catsimatidis — a year ago.
