Kate Scott To Handle Warriors Radio Call Later This Month

On March 29, Bay Area sportscaster Kate Scott will provide radio play-by-play of the Warriors matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Golden State’s flagship station 95.7 The Game.

Longtime Warriors radio play-by-play voice Tim Roye joined The Morning Roast, co-hosted by Scott on 95.7 The Game, to offer her the March 29 gig. “You’re not going be watching the Bulls and Warriors,” Roy told Scott. “Kate, we want you to be play-by-play.”

The announcement comes as part of the Warriors continued celebration of Women’s History Month, but Scott has more than earned the forthcoming opportunity to call an NBA game. Being the first woman to serve as the Warriors radio play-by-play voice is the latest milestone for Scott who continues to be a trailblazer in the industry.

At 37-years-old, Scott’s sportscasting career has already seen her become the first woman to call an NFL game on the radio and the first to call football for the Pac-12 Networks. Last year, Scott also took part in a historic event for NBC Sports, as she provided play-by-play during the first NHL game to feature an all-female team of broadcasters.

Scott joined the morning show on 95.7 The Game last October after five years with the Pac-12 Networks and six years as a full-time on-air contributor to the station’s Bay Area rival KNBR.
