Colin Cowherd Critical of Bears For Leaking Interest in Russell Wilson

The Chicago Bears have had a rough off-season as they said goodbye to Mitchell Trubisky. The 26-year-old never lived up to expectations after the Bears traded up, passing on notable quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson, to draft him.

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd hasn’t missed an opportunity to criticize the Bears on his program The Heard. Cowherd ripped the team for how its quarterback search this off-season. During this week’s shows, Cowherd stated that the Bear’s don’t know what they’re doing after their social media team uploaded a photo of Andy Dalton, who they signed to a one-year deal, with the caption “QB 1.”

Now Cowherd is once again criticizing the Bears, saying the team is trying to influence the media with PR instead of actual news.

When discussing the report that the Bears remain in the Wilson sweepstakes, the Fox Sports host discussed who leaked the news of the Seahawks quarterback still being on the market. His belief is Ryan Pace, Chicago’s GM, is pushing that narrative and it might not necessarily be true.

Cowherd ripped the Bears and Pace for how the team played up its interest in Russell Wilson. Cowherd says that the chances of landing the Seahawks’ QB were “about 5 percent” and Pace played up the link anyway. It set the fan base up for disappointment.

Matt Nagy doesn’t get the same treatment. Cowherd believes Nagy can coach and hopes he gets the chance to get out of Chicago to prove it.
