There is absolutely no way the Jacksonville Jaguars’ pick will not be televised in its entirety during this year’s NFL Draft. The team has the first pick after all. That makes it a little hard for ESPN or the NFL Network to argue that there isn’t enough intrigue to stick with it. That hasn’t always been the case though.
The franchise poked fun at this fact on Tuesday on its official Twitter account. The social media team cut together a highlight package of announcers saying “when we return” while the Jags were on the clock with a top 5 pick.
It is a funny joke and a source of frustration for a small, but passionate fanbase. Let’s be fair to cable networks that carry the draft though. When was the last time the Jacksonville Jaguars’ draft position was one of real impact? For that matter, why is it important for a network to stay at the event while nothing is happening?
