Barrett Sports Media has learned that Pete Blackburn has joined Bally Sports. He is the regional sports networks’ face of NHL coverage. He will cover the sports on the national level.
Blackburn comes from CBS Sports. His humorous columns ran on the network’s website since 2017. His work has also appeared on websites for Sports Illustrated, WEEI, and FOX Sports.
Pete Blackburn will stay in Boston and work remotely. This seems to be a new model for national experts at Bally. Annie Agar announced over the weekend that she would work the same way covering football. With the Bally brand now behind him, he will likely continue to incorporate gambling information into his coverage.
Twelve NHL teams call Bally Sports networks their television home. Three other teams have their games air locally on a regional sports network that is a Bally’s affiliate. The Seattle Kraken will join that group at the start of next season.
