While most radio stations are looking for shows to replace the late Rush Limbaugh, two stations in California and New Mexico are adding the show to their lineups.
KERN Radio News Talk 1180 in Bakersfield and KIVA 1600 AM in Albuquerque announced that they are taking on the show which many in the industry feel has run its course.
Limbaugh’s syndicator, Premiere Networks, has been airing the show using guest hosts and soundbites from previous shows ever since Limbaugh passed away on Feb. 17.
“The Rush Limbaugh Show has always been the gold standard of talk radio,” said KERN regional director of operations & programming Robert Lewis. “Having the opportunity to add Rush’s wise words to our broadcast day was a very easy choice for KERN Radio.”
Limbaugh’s show is currently being hosted by Todd Herman, Ken Matthews, Jason Lewis and Brett Winterble.
“I understand the tremendous value of the Rush Limbaugh brand for our audience as the legacy of the greatest radio host in American history continues,” said KIVA program director and Rock of Talk LLC CEO Eddy Aragon. “The Rush Limbaugh Show is the perfect complement to our impressive talk lineup. May the second century of radio live on with what we have been blessed to have known!”
