105.9 FM WMAL in Washington D.C. debuted its new afternoon show Monday with host Vince Coglianese. The station has undergone several lineup changes in the past two weeks including the addition of Dan Bongino at noon at the departure of morning co-host Mary Walter.
Joining Coglianese to christen the new time slot, Fox News star Tucker Carlson. The pair discussed the evolving mainstream idea that the coronavirus escaped from a lab in Wuhan, China and made its way to the U.S.
Carlson’s reporting last year on the subject was censored by Facebook. The social media giant removed clips from Carlson’s show talking about the leak.
“And they are still off to this day,” Carlson said. “You can’t overstate how well known this was to anyone that was paying attention. A group of Chinese scientists spent all of 2020 researching this and discovered that the wet market story was a lie.”
Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases recently fueled mainstream speculation about the nature of the virus when he said that he is “not convinced” the virus developed naturally.
“Scientists then discovered that there were not one but two labs around the wet market doing research on a virus that infected horseshoe bats. This has never been a conspiracy theory; this has always been the most likely explanation.”
Vince Coglianese hosts WMAL’s The Vince Coglianese show every afternoon from 3-6 PM.
