A former Fox News anchor is lashing out at her old employer following lawsuits that accuse high-profile talent of sexual misconduct.
Alisyn Camerota who now works at CNN told Brian Shelter Tuesday that given some of the accusations that have surfaced at Fox News, she believes the culture there is “rotten to the core” and that more changes must be made.
“There are good people there just trying to do their jobs,” she continued.
Camerota left the network on March 14, 2014 after a 16-year run. She spoke out publicly against Fox News after Bill O’Reilly was sent packing by the network after being accused of sexual assault.
Last year, two lawsuits against Fox News accused former host Ed Henry of rape. A seperate suit claims Henry, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Howard Kurtz and others commited acts of sexual harassment by dangling the prospect of a full-time job in exchange for suggested sexual favors.
The network refuted those accusations, releasing a statement exonerating all personalities of any responsibility.
“Based on the findings of a comprehensive independent investigation conducted by an outside law firm, including interviews with numerous eyewitnesses, we have determined that all of Cathy Areu’s claims against FOX News, including its management as well as its hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity & Howard Kurtz and its contributor Gianno Caldwell, are false, patently frivolous and utterly devoid of any merit,” the network said.
