During a press conference held by North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, News Talk 1110 & 99.3 WBT’s Brett Jensen made sure to let the state politician know his lack of communication was not appreciated .
The journalist asked why the governor has avoided him and the Charlotte radio station. WBT has reportedly been unable to ask Cooper questions for the past 14 months.
Jensen told Cooper that during that time, whether it’s been himself, his staff, or other members of the radio station, they’ve been prevented from asking him questions. The WBT reporter pointed out that other media outlets have had more access to Cooper, asking him “more than 100 questions” over the past year.
Cooper appeared to be caught off guard with the question, claiming that he did not know WBT was not receiving access to ask questions during the news conferences that the governor holds.
“First off, I’m not aware of that,” Cooper said. Nonetheless, he did mention that the radio station is welcome to join and ask questions at any time.
When Jensen continued to ask about the inability to have access to questions over the past 14 months, Cooper reiterated, “I don’t know.”
