Las Vegas radio host Heidi Harris abruptly announced that she was leaving her job at AM 670 KMZQ Monday, citing her unwillingness to go back to morning drive.
“They wanted me to go back to morning drive and I just can’t,” she tweeted. “We parted as friends. I enjoyed my time there and I’m excited about what God has planned next. And I have a few ideas of my own.”
Last year, Barrett News Media reported that Harris was moving to a midday slot to accommodate her desire to spend more time with her family.
“After 20 years, the morning drive hours weren’t working for my life or health anymore,” Harris said at the time via her newsletter.
Harris, a best-selling author, was named one of Nevada’s Distinguished Women in 2014.
“I would literally never have seen my husband had I gone back to AM drive. Marriage comes first. Jobs matter much less. I’m good.”
She tweeted that she still plans to do the Heidi Show podcast.
