A Central Pennsylvania-based broadcasting company has promoted its morning man and general manager to the role of vice president, Barrett News Media has learned.
Pat Ryan, who heads News Talk 103.7 FM in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania will now serve as Vice President of Magnum Broadcasting.
“Oh my God, I’ve got more work to do,” Ryan said jokingly in a one-on-one sit-down with BNM. “It’s nice to be recognized through the company and I love the idea of working on the brands in the Florida Keys.”
Magnum owns and operates several stations in the Keys including a 50,000-watt FM signal that was rebranded as Keys Talk 96.9 FM last September.
“Making Chambersburg something special over the last couple of years and taking that model and bringing it to the Keys is something I am very excited about.”
Ryan said the prospect for growth down south is a challenge that he is looking forward to.
“There are no big talkers down there,” Ryan said. “People are thirsty for an aggressive, hyper-local news/talk station to become an instrumental part of that community.”
Ryan will continue his day-to-day responsibilities as the morning show host of First News in Chambersburg as he transitions to his role of overseeing programming and sales for Magnum’s Pennsylvania and Florida radio stations.
