In April, Washington D.C.’s news//talk powerhouse WMAL 105.9 FM lost its market manager, Ken Roberts, who died unexpectedly.
The station announced Roberts’ replacement late last week. Jeff Boden, who ran a four-station cluster in Fredericksburg, Virginia, has been tapped for the position. Boden will oversee WMAL 105.9 FM and WSBN ESPN630 AM The Sports Capitol.
“WMAL and WSBN are exceptional stations and demand an exceptional leader at the helm,” Cumulus Media executive vice president of operations Dave Milner told Talkers.com. “Jeff Boden is the perfect choice to take these legendary stations into the future. We could not be more thrilled to have him on the Cumulus Media team. His deep experience and relationships in the market make him our ideal choice.”
WMAL is consistently one of the top-rated stations in the seventh ranked market in the country.
“I am truly honored to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Boden told Talkers.com It’s wonderful to serve the local community and our advertising partners. I look forward to working with so many people I have known for years, as well as with newer additions to the team.”
