Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Aim To Continue Rush Limbaugh’s Fight

Clay Travis and Buck Sexton broadcast their first-ever show Monday. The pair began the show by praising the late Rush Limbaugh and emphasizing the fact that they were not hired to replace Rush.

“But what we are going to continue is the fight that Rush Limbaugh fought so eloquently and so spectacularly for so many years,” said Travis. “There is an element of fear in this country that I think for generations we have not ever actually had to deal with.”

Travis discussed the trepidation that so many people feel who want to discuss their political views either in society or online, but ultimately never do for fear that they will be criticized or cancelled.

“And we are going to be the voice for many people who do not feel like they have a right to share their voice,” Travis said. “And we are going to be the absolute most honest show, I believe, anywhere that you are going to find in radio or any other medium.”

Sexton added that Limbaugh was the reason that he does talk radio. “For conservatives to feel like they are getting a fair shot in the marketplace of ideas — and, in this culture war, we’re not seeming to just cede ground every day. And what was Rush? Well, he was a valiant warrior for his cause.”

Monday’s inaugural show was reported to be the largest-ever launch of a talk show broadcast to more than 400 radio affiliates across the United States.
