Industry sources tell Barrett News Media that Baltimore politician Kimberly Klacik has been hired by WBAL NewsRadio 1090 as a part time host.
Last year, Klacik garnered national attention when she raised more than $8 million for her campaign for Maryland’s 7th District, which includes half of Baltimore City. Klacik took aim at Democrats during her campaign, criticizing them for enacting policies that have led to an increase in crime, poverty, and a tumultuous public education system.
“Do you care about Black lives? The people that run Baltimore don’t,” Klacik said in a now-viral video titled “Black Lives Don’t Matter To Democrats.” Klacik strode the streets of violence ravaged Baltimore in a red dress and high heels.
Recently, Klacik has been involved in a feud with conservative commentator Candace Owens who accused Klacik of misappropriating campaign funds and using cocaine. Owens also accused Klacik of manipulating conservative Republicans out of money by using “race hustling” tactics.
Last August, former President Donald Trump endorsed Klacik and vowed to work with her to clean up Baltimore.
It’s unclear what Klacik’s specific role will be. Sources say she may be paired with the station’s current afternoon host Torrey Snow but WBAL management will make that final decision.
