Charges have been brought to a Pennsylvania man for attacking a photographer for The Associated Press during the Jan. 6 insurrection on the U.S. Capitol. According to The Department of Justice, Alan William Byerly was arrested and faces five charges due to the riot.
The indictment by the FBI Byerly is captured on video “assaulting a credentialed member of the news media (MONM), specifically a photographer assigned to the Associated Press.”
There’s no name of the AP photographer in question. However, Byerly did appear in a video standing behind the group pulling the photographer down.
Byerly and three others allegedly took the photographer and pulled him back toward where the original dispute took place.
The Pennsylvania man reportedly grabbed the AP photographer’s face and neck. Then he continued to shove him away from the stairs and toward a low stone wall. He then pushed him, forcing him to stumble into other members of the crowd.
