America’s highest-grossing revenue station continues to receive top billing for its excellent work on-air and online.
WTOP Radio recently took home three first-place awards from the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association (CAPBA) Awards last weekend.
The station which identifies itself as “Washington’s Top News” station received top honors for Outstanding News Operation and Outstanding Website for WTOP.com.
WTOP has garnered a total of 10 awards in 2021, including the prestigious Edward R. Murrow awards for Overall Excellence and Website.
This year’s CAPBA ceremony took place virtually via ZOOM.
“2020 was a tough year for journalists across the U.S. We are honored that our work was recognized by CAPBA,” said Julia Ziegler, WTOP’s Director of News and Programming. “These awards are truly a testament to the hard work of our team.”
