Barrett Sports Media has learned that Jim Graci is no longer on the job at Audacy’s Pittsburgh cluster. Details are scarce, but sources say the parting was amicable between the two sides.
Replacing Graci will be no easy feat. The longtime Pittsburgh programmer experienced tremendous success guiding 93.7 The Fan and news talker KDKA. Each brand dominated the market in its respective format. Graci also led The Fan to a number of top spots in past BSM Top 20 lists. That includes a top spot on both the list of Top 20 Mid Market Sports Stations for The Fan and the top spot on the list of Top 20 Mid Market PD’s for Graci himself in 2020.
Graci spent over 9 years working for CBS Radio, Entercom, and Audacy. He came to the cluster from Dallas, where he spent a year programming KLIF for Cumulus. Prior to that, he ran Pittsburgh’s other sports talk brand, ESPN Pittsburgh.
The Fan has had just three programmers in its lifespan, including Terry Foxx and Ryan Maguire. With three successful, respected names leading the way in the past, it is a good bet that Audacy will have high standards for the station’s next leader. The open position is posted on Audacy’s site.
As details become available, Barrett Sports Media will share them. We wish Jim Graci all the best in future endeavors.
