Beasley Media Group will require its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to Inside Radio. The news comes several days after Cumulus Media announced the same move.
CEO Caroline Beasley told the website that the company’s employees must have their shot (s) by November 1st. The policy will apply to new and existing employees.
“As broadcasters, we have a higher duty to the communities we serve than do ordinary businesses and as a company, we have a responsibility to ensure a safe working environment on behalf of our employees and their families,” Beasley said.
The cost of the vaccine will be covered by the company and employees will have to show proof of their vaccination status.
“Employees who do not fulfill one of these two requirements will be placed on unpaid leave and their employment will be subject to termination.”
Audacy is requiring all new employees to be fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, iHeartMedia, is not requiring its employees to get vaccinated.
