Ian Beckles and Jay Recher are in Tampa to stay. The duo have new multi-year contracts in place with iHeartMedia and 95.3 WDAE.
Their show, Beckles & Recher, is in its first year of life, launching after Ron Diaz announced his retirement. At that time Recher, who was the executive producer of Ron & Ian was elevated to the co-host’s chair.
“I was blessed to work with radio legend Ron Diaz for 17 years on The Ron and Ian Show and I’m excited and eager to continue this run with my new partner in crime, the great Jay Recher,” Beckles said in a press release.
Jay Recher, who recently had a Twitter post inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame added “We really try and touch on a little bit of everything and I can honestly say there isn’t a day that I come into the station and I’m not excited to go to work. A big thanks to everyone at iHeartMedia Tampa Bay and 95.3 WDAE for their support and commitment to us.”
There may never have been a better time than right now to be hosting a sports talk show in Tampa. The Buccaneers and Lightning are their league’s reigning champions. The Rays won the American League pennant in 2020 and currently own the best record in the American League.
