Earlier this week, NBC’s Shaquille Brewster was in the middle of a segment reporting on Hurricane Ida when a man pulled over to the side, got out of his truck, and confronted the reporter.
It didn’t take long for the man’s identity to become public as there were arrest warrants out for charge Benjamin Eugene Dagley, from Ohio. Furthermore, the arrest of Dagley didn’t take long either, as U.S. Marshals arrested him on Thursday at a shopping plaza in Dayton, Ohio, per Deadline.
In Mississippi, the Gulfport Police Department has filed criminal charges against Dagley with two counts of simple assault, one count of disturbing the peace, and one count of violating an emergency curfew.
“Due to assistance provided by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, our task force members were able to track this fugitive from Mississippi to his arrest location in Dayton,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said.
“This violent fugitive was attempting to flee from his charges in Gulfport, but the swift work of our task force members resulted in a timely arrest.”
