Larry Elder: I’m Going to Be Able to Break the Stranglehold

Nationally syndicated radio host and California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder appeared on Fox News’ Media Buzz Sunday.

The show hosted by Howard Kurtz focuses on how the media frames and portrays the biggest stories in the country.

Elder is the leading candidate in the recall election targeting Gov. Gavin Newsom. Kurtz asked Elder about some of the things that he’s covered on the radio in the past being “fair game” for the press to attack him during his campaign.

Kurtz reminded Elder that he called global warming “a crock.” Elder insisted he never referred to it in those terms.

“Howard, I’ve been campaigning now for five weeks. I’ve been a politician now for five weeks. No one has asked me about any of those things,” said Elder.

Elder said the media is “doing whatever they can to bring me down.”

“They’re afraid that I’m going to be able to break the stranglehold that they’ve had over Blacks and browns for years. All I am is common sense.”
