Conservative commentators slammed Dr. Anthony Fauci Sunday for his comments on CBS’s Face the Nation regarding the status of Christmas get-togethers.
In an interview on “Face The Nation”, Fauci told host Margaret Brennan that COVID-19 cases are slowing, but it’s “too soon to tell” if gathering during the holiday season would be safe for families.
Fauci has come under scrutiny from the right for his inconsistent stances on the pandemic. One of those outspoken voices who wasn’t buying Fauci’s remarks was syndicated radio host Clay Travis.
“Insanity. Who in the world is still listening to this dude?” tweeted Travis.
“It’s bad enough that Fauci says these ridiculous things, but it’s worse that journos keep framing questions to him as if he has any say over whether we get together for Christmas,” said Washington Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross.
Last year, Fauci condemned the traditional holiday celebration because of widespread outbreaks of the COVID-19 virus.
During Sunday’s interview, Fauci touted the effectiveness of vaccines and subsequent boost shots.
“Let’s focus like a laser on continuing to get those cases down. We can do it by getting vaccinated,” he said.
