According to Radio Online, Connoisseur Media’s WICC radio in Bridgeport, Connecticut is adding an FM frequency.
The station has been positioned at 600-AM since 1926. The station will also be heard at 107.3 FM.
“This is a community that is underserved by local television news and really WICC is the only radio station that delivers it,” said Program Director Allan Lamberti.
Connoisseur Media purchased the station two years ago with the intent of delivering more quality local news programming to the Bridgeport area.
“With the addition of an FM frequency, we will really be able to get local news and information to more of the listeners of Bridgeport and beyond,” said Lamberti.
“WICC is one of the first radio stations in our state and it’s our honor to not only expand its reach but also to continue to keep it relevant and local for southern Connecticut,” said Senior Vice President / Market Manager Kristin Okesson.
