Former President Donald Trump has had a longstanding feud with the family of former United States senator John McCain, in particular his daughter Meghan McCain.
On Friday, Trump commented on McCain departing “The View” this summer due to a culture of bullying and toxicity. The former president mocked her decision to leave the daytime talk show.
“Isn’t it funny that Meghan McCain, who has always been a bully and basically a lowlife, is now complaining that it was she who was bullied by the Slobs and Radical Left maniacs of ‘The View,'” Trump said.
McCain appeared on Fox News’ “MediaBuzz,” where she responded to Trump, telling him she’s thankful for the publicity as the former talk show host makes the media rounds promoting her new book “Bad Republican.”
“My first reaction was, ‘Thanks for the publicity,'” McCain said. “He really has a way of helping people get publicity for their books.”
“My family and him have a blood feud at this point. It’s about what conservatism looks like post-Trump, which I think is something Republicans will really have to take a hard look at one way or another if he ends up running in 2024.”
