Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto is reportedly receiving death threats for his pro-vaccine message and one of his competitors is coming to his defense.
CNN’s Jake Tapper spoke out against those threatening Cavuto during a portion of a segment on his show Friday.
The Lead host prefaced his comments about Cavuto by saying that CNN usually doesn’t mention the competition.
“We just wanted to take a moment to say a couple of things about Neil,” Tapper said. ““Neil is a survivor. He has multiple sclerosis, he has had open-heart surgery, he beat stage four cancer, and he is now fighting COVID.”
Tapper said Cavuto’s recent comments about the importance of vaccines were directed at people with compromised immune systems.
Without directly mentioning Fox News, Tapper said many viewers “have been lied to about vaccines by others.”
“Neil has received death threats for his simple, logical, science-based call for vaccinations. And Neil Cavuto is a gentleman,” he said. “Neil Cavuto does not deserve that. Stay strong, Neil. We wish you health and a long, long life.”
