American audio streaming service TuneIn is aspiring to grow on a global scale, and on Thursday, it took the next steps in reaching this goal as Inside Radio reports that a partnership has been struck with News UK.
This partnership deal will bring UK-based news, music, and sports coverage to the streaming platform. News Corp, the company founded by Rupert Murdoch, owns News UK, which serves as a publisher for The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Sun newspapers.
“TuneIn is helping create new growth opportunities for radio stations around the world, enabling regional broadcasters to reach a global audience without letting go of their traditional distribution and monetization models,” CEO Richard Stern said in a release.
“Over 80 million loyal listeners and our valued broadcast partners have made TuneIn the leading distribution channel for live audio content globally.”
Globally, TuneIn can be accessed in more than 100 countries and found on over 200 different platforms and devices.
