2022 will bring change to the WGN Radio lineup, with a familiar voice returning to the city of Chicago. The radio station announced that Lisa Dent will be the co-host of a new show starting Monday, Jan. 3.
Dent will be paired with veteran journalist Steve Bertrand, and the two will host an afternoon show called “Chicago’s Afternoon News with Lisa Dent and Steve Bertrand,” which airs from 2 pm-6 pm.
“Lisa Dent has long been a significant and well-known presence in Chicago radio,” said WGN Radio VP/GM Mary Sandberg Boyle.
“Her vibrant personality and warmth, understanding of the city, and an ability to authentically connect on a personal level with listeners makes her a natural fit for afternoon drive on WGN as we embark on our 100th year of being the voice of Chicagoland.”
WGN Radio’s shakeup to their lineup and decision to have Dent come back into the fold did come at a cost. Anna Davlantes lost her 1 pm-4 pm slot as she now takes an investigative correspondent role. She’ll provide providing special reporting and cover news stories in-depth.
